Bi Luo Chun - A story from Dong Ting

Want to learn more about Bi Luo Chun? Check out our tasting set. A great way to compare different grades of Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun.

Bi Luo Chun was originated from beautiful Dong Ting, Jiang Su. The two mountains in the Tai Lake - Dong Shan (East Mountain) and Xi Shan (West Mountain) are where Bi Luo Chun tea trees grow. Bi Luo Chun tea trees are grow between fruit trees, which give Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun its unique floral/fruital aroma.

Unlike many other teas, Bi Luo Chun only harvest in spring. This enables those tender tea buds to accumulate lots of nutritions through out rest of the year. High grade Bi Luo Chun can have 65K to 75K tea buds per 500g tea. The higher the grade, the tender the leaves and buds, and the more the white hairs.

Plucking the tiny leaves and buds are not an easy task. The farmer in the video worked the whole moning and was only able to fill the small basket.
